We are proud to announce that we have recently partnered with Faith Victory Association in Rwanda. Faith Victory Association works with the local community and all stakeholders to put in place mechanisms that eradicate poverty, that promote public health and that build capacity of women and children.

FVA runs non-formal education centers to cater to children from poor and victimized families in the town of Kigali. Access to education is limited because

  • of domestic violence
  • failure to get a meal for the day
  • poverty and economic pressures

By running education centers, FVA provides training for vulnerable children and equips them with essential skills for coping with the challenges of daily life. The children are taught by GVN volunteers on basic numeric skills, literacy skills and skills related to fighting against gender based violence. In addition, the children are taught about good discipline and creativity through visits to different places and sports activities.

FVA is currently fundraising so that they will be able to start offering at least one meal to these children. This will enable the children to participate more actively in the centre’s education as it will improve their level of nutrition.

  • $0,85 provides 1 child with a noon meal for 1 day
  • $18 provides 1 child with a noon meal for 1 month
  • $109 provides 1 child with a noon meal for 6 months
  • $2,188 provides 20 children with a noon mealfor 6 months
  • $10,942 provides 50 children with a noon meal for 1 year

By working with local partners GVN Foundation is able to have a direct impact on the day-to-day lives of children in Rwanda. Together with FVA we are seeking sustainable, innovative solutions to local problems. However, we rely entirely upon donors like you who recognize that change always begins with individuals. Please make a donation to help us with our current projects.

Please note your donation will go into a 'general projects fund' to be used to assist our partner. In all instances we strive to send funds to the stated program above but in the event of a greater need or change in program needs GVNF will determine the destination of funds.
