Nepal Earthquake Appeal
Nepal was devastated by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake on April 25th 2015. There was a huge loss of life and severe damage to vital infrastructure and buildings. GVN is doing all we can to support our partner projects in Nepal and we want to ensure you are able to offer your support as well.
Provision of temporary shelter through the monsoon season, until construction of permanent buildings can begin.
Establishment of temporary learning centres (TLCs) to ensure education interruption is limited, and children have somewhere safe to play and learn.
Repairs and construction at schools badly damaged by the earthquake in Lalitpur and Ramechhap Districts.
The temporary shelters and TLCs are now finished, with all funds going to semi-permanent/permanent school rebuilds to get the kids out of the cold, draughty and rotting TLCs.
Shining Star Children's Home
Shining Stars Children's Home provides stable, reliable and loving care for up to 30 children, offering a family atmosphere that encourages positive growth and development with the view to the children becoming successful, compassionate adults, who will be able to contribute positively to their community and country. The staff at Shining Stars encourages the children to grow at their own pace into responsible adults without losing their childhood.
